Kocaeli repair efforts continue following heavy floods

Following heavy rainfall that caused flooding and infrastructure damage in Kocaeli, the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality has deployed extensive resources to repair the affected areas. The municipality’s ‘A Team’ from the Department of Roads and Maintenance is currently utilizing 800 personnel and 345 vehicles to address the damage.

Repair efforts are focused on restoring damaged road sections and bridge crossings to ensure transportation safety. Additionally, crews are cleaning and repairing rainwater channels and roadside V-channels that were clogged or damaged by debris carried by floodwaters. These maintenance activities aim to restore water drainage systems and prevent further infrastructure issues caused by water accumulation.
