Kocaeli‑Gümüşhane Cultural Bridge Event Strengthens Regional Ties

From July 16‑18, the Kocaeli Gümüşhane Dernekler Federasyonu (GÜDEF) organized a three‑day cultural and promotional tour of the Kadırga Yaylası area in Gümüşhane. Led by GÜDEF President Selami Kolcu, the program brought together Kocaeli municipal leaders—including the mayors of Gebze, Darıca and Körfez—local businesspeople and cultural enthusiasts. Participants visited sites such as Çağlayandibi Waterfall, Örümcek Forest, Kabaktepe Martyrs’ Cemetery and several highland villages, highlighting the region’s natural beauty and historic heritage.

The federation stresses that the trip is not merely a sightseeing excursion but a effort to preserve and transmit cultural heritage while deepening solidarity between the two provinces. Organizers say the event will promote tourism in Gümüşhane and reinforce a sense of shared identity and cooperation among the participating communities.
