Kocasinan Municipality opens 14th annual ecological market in Kayseri

The Kocasinan Municipality has opened its '100% Ecological Market' for the 14th time in Kayseri, Turkey. The market aims to encourage the production and consumption of healthy, certified organic products by connecting producers directly with consumers without intermediaries.

All participating producers are certified, and their production processes are inspected by the Ministry to ensure food safety and reliability. The initiative also supports sustainable agriculture by emphasizing the protection of ancestral and local seeds. Currently, 30 farmers producing organic goods across approximately 500 decares of land in seven districts of Kayseri participate in the market.

Yeşim Bekyürek, President of the Kapadokya Organic Agriculture Producers Union Association (KAPTAR), noted that the market is one of the most successful and stable organic markets in Turkey, highlighting its regular operation compared to other regions outside of major cities like Ankara, Izmir, and Istanbul. The market will continue to operate every Sunday in the Erciyesevler neighborhood until November.
