Kocc Barma investigation: iPhone 16 forensics reveal sexual videos and extortion contacts
Investigators from the Special Cybersecurity Division (DSC) have conducted a significant forensic analysis of an iPhone 16 belonging to El Hadji Babacar Dioum, known as ‘Kocc Barma’. Dioum, who has been in pretrial detention since July 2025, was removed from his cell to allow authorities to access the device using a previously obtained passcode.
The digital exploitation revealed numerous sexual videos involving various individuals, mirroring findings from a previously seized computer. Furthermore, investigators recovered WhatsApp contact information for several individuals who had either exchanged messages with Dioum or sent him videos intended for ‘destruction’.
The investigation is part of a larger probe into an extortion network that has reportedly been active for over a decade. Other individuals involved in the case include El Hadji Assane Demba, alias ‘Leuk Daour’, and two other correspondents. The suspects face multiple charges, including criminal conspiracy, unlawful collection and distribution of personal data, invasion of privacy, child pornography, and extortion.
