Kochi Mayor launches Kidsight app for child development tracking
Kochi Mayor V. K. Minimol has officially launched ‘Kidsight’, a free mobile application developed by the Prayatna Center for Child Development. The app is designed to assist parents in monitoring their children’s physical and cognitive growth milestones through age-appropriate screening.
Launched during the ‘OPPAM’ event at Oberon Mall in observance of World Occupational Therapy Day, the app provides educational videos, informative resources, and preliminary guidance. It also allows parents to share specific developmental concerns. Dr. Joseph Sunny Kunnacherry, founder and director of Prayatna, noted that the tool aims to increase parental awareness and help families recognize when professional intervention may be necessary.
Prayatna clarified that Kidsight is intended for initial screening and developmental awareness rather than providing medical diagnoses. The application is available for free on both Android and iOS platforms.
