Škoda celebrates 25 years of Superb flagship model

Škoda is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its flagship Superb model, which has reached a production milestone of approximately 1.8 million units across four generations. Since its modern relaunch at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2001, the model has become a cornerstone of the brand's success, particularly in the fleet and corporate sectors where more than half of all Superb units are sold.

In the Czech market, the Superb maintains a dominant 68 percent share of the upper mid-size segment, outpacing competitors such as the BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

The model has undergone significant technological evolutions, including the introduction of the TwinDoor system in the second generation, advanced connectivity in the third, and the brand's first plug-in hybrid powertrain in 2019. The current fourth generation, which includes both liftback and combi body styles, is manufactured in Bratislava alongside the new Volkswagen Passat, moving production from the previous Kvasiny plant.
