Škoda Titan Desert Almería sets record for female participation

The Škoda Titan Desert Almería mountain biking event has reached a historic milestone, recording its largest and most international field in seven years. The competition features 570 participants representing 27 different nationalities.

A significant highlight of this edition is the record participation of women, with 60 female cyclists competing. This growth is attributed to ‘SheTitan’, a program launched by the Titan World Series to encourage female involvement in mountain bike and gravel disciplines.

María Salvó serves as the ambassador for the SheTitan program. Following the loss of her sister in a rally accident in 2020, Salvó has focused on inspiring others to overcome hesitation and pursue high-demand sports. Speaking from the event hub in Mojácar, she emphasized the inclusive and social nature of the race, noting that the sense of camaraderie often outweighs the competitive tension.
