Kodansha to release Blue Lock proverb educational book

Kodansha Children's Division has announced the release of ‘Blue Lock Kotowaza 100’, an educational book featuring the popular manga series Blue Lock. Scheduled for release around September 24, 2026, the book aims to help readers improve their vocabulary through the lens of the series' characters and intense competitive scenarios.

The publication includes 100 entries covering Japanese proverbs, idioms, four-character compounds (yojijukugo), and English proverbs. By pairing these linguistic elements with specific scenes and character dialogue from the manga, the book intends to make complex terms easier to visualize and understand.

To appeal to new fans following the live-action film release in August 2026, the book will feature color commentary pages introducing popular characters at the beginning.
