Poland issues warnings over suspected puma sightings

Authorities in Poland have issued multiple warnings following reports of a large feline, suspected to be a puma, appearing in various regions.

In northern Mazovia, sightings have been reported in the Ciechanów, Pułtusk, and Wyszków areas. Residents in municipalities such as Regimin, Stupsk, and Zatory have been advised to exercise extreme caution, avoid forests, and keep children and pets indoors. Local police and emergency services have conducted searches, though the animal has not been officially confirmed or captured.

Simultaneously, warnings have been issued in the Kłodzko County region of Lower Silesia, specifically near Szczytna and Polanica-Zdrój. The Zdroje Forest District is monitoring the area after a report of an unidentified large cat from the feline family.

In all affected areas, officials urge the public to maintain a safe distance, avoid attempting to approach, feed, or capture the animal, and to report any sightings immediately to emergency services via 112.
