Kłodzko to Wrocław train journey sets new 56-minute record

A new speed record has been set on the railway line between Kłodzko and Wrocław, with a special train completing the journey in 56 minutes. This achievement is 10 minutes faster than the previous record.

The record-breaking run was performed using a new Elf train manufactured by the Bydgoszcz-based company PESA. The improved travel time is attributed to the combination of modern rolling stock and significant infrastructure investments in the Lower Silesia region.

According to regional officials, the reduction in travel time is a result of systematic fleet upgrades by Koleje Dolnośląskie and track modernization by Polskie Linie Kolejowe. Ongoing projects, supported in part by the National Recovery Plan (KPO), include revitalizing several lines such as the Wrocław–Kłodzko–Międzylesie route, which has seen travel times drop significantly from approximately 100 minutes in 2024.
