Koei Tecmo releases Romance of the Three Kingdoms 14 Heritage Edition

Koei Tecmo has released ‘Romance of the Three Kingdoms 14 with Power-Up Kit Heritage Edition’, a definitive version of the series marking its 40th anniversary. Developed by the company’s Tianjin-based team, the release includes the Power-Up Kit and various previous DLCs, alongside new features.

Key additions include 100 historical landmarks, 190 historical events, and classical poetry to enhance immersion. The gameplay introduces a ‘military intelligence’ system where players use reconnaissance to gain advantages in diplomacy and tactics. Additionally, a new officer cultivation mechanism allows generals to accumulate merit to unlock various strategic policies.

On Steam in the China region, the DLC is priced at 128 yuan, though players must own the original ‘Romance of the Three Kingdoms 14’ to run it. A bundle containing both the base game and the Heritage Edition is also available. The game is accessible on PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
