Koenigsegg unveils CCGT1 megacar inspired by aborted racing project
Koenigsegg has unveiled the CCGT1, a road-legal, track-focused megacar inspired by the manufacturer’s unfulfilled GT1 racing program from nearly two decades ago. The new model serves as a modern tribute to the original CCGT project, which was canceled following changes to FIA regulations.
Based on the CC850, the CCGT1 features a 5.0-liter biturbo V8 engine. The powertrain produces 1,280 hp using standard gasoline and can reach up to 1,600 hp when using E85 fuel. The vehicle is equipped with a nine-speed Koenigsegg Light Speed transmission, though a six-speed manual option is available.
Aerodynamically, the car can generate up to 800 kg of downforce at 250 km/h. Production is strictly limited to 70 units, all of which were reportedly allocated prior to the model's public debut.
