Koenigsegg unveils CCGT1 hypercar at Monterey Car Week
Koenigsegg has unveiled the CCGT1, a limited-edition hypercar produced in only 70 units, during Monterey Car Week. The vehicle serves as a tribute to the company’s original CCGT racing project from the mid-2000s, which was abandoned after the FIA changed GT1 homologation regulations shortly after testing began.
Based on the CC850, the CCGT1 features a heavily redesigned carbon fiber body, retaining only the doors and removable roof from its predecessor. It is engineered for both road and track use, capable of generating 800 kg of downforce at 250 km/h through an advanced aerodynamic package including an active rear wing, front splitter, and active underfloor flaps.
The hypercar is powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 1,280 hp on standard fuel and up to 1,600 hp when running on E85 biofuel. It utilizes the nine-speed Light Speed Transmission paired with the new Koenigsegg Sequential Shift system. All 70 units were reportedly allocated before the official public debut.
