Kofinas Olive Oil recalls garlic-infused product over ingredient concerns

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a voluntary recall of Garlic Mediterranean Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil produced by Cincinnati-based LMSI LLC/Kofinas Olive Oil. The recall was initiated because the product contains a garlic essential oil that is not approved for culinary use.

The affected product was sold in 100 ml, 250 ml, and 500 ml glass bottles. Distribution was limited to two locations in Cincinnati, Ohio: Montgomery Store & Infusion Kitchen and Findlay Market, as well as through the company’s website.

While the FDA has urged consumers to monitor for signs of allergic reactions or foodborne illness—such as nausea, vomiting, or fever—no illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall to date.
