APC Formalizes Tinubu‑Shettima Ticket for 2027 Election

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally confirmed Vice President Kashim Shettima as President Bola Tinubu’s running‑mate for the 2027 presidential election. Nomination forms for both Tinubu and Shettima were presented by the President’s Special Adviser on Political Matters, Ibrahim Masari, to APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda at a ceremony in Abuja attended by members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, the National Assembly, the Federal Executive Council and senior party officials. Party leaders, including National Organising Secretary Sulaiman Argungu and National Chairman Yilwatda, highlighted the party’s 12 million verified members and cited achievements such as the student loan scheme, agricultural interventions and infrastructure projects. They portrayed the ticket as a testament to loyalty, competence and continuity, asserting that the decision ends months of speculation and positions the APC for a decisive victory.
