Kogi State Polytechnic suspends lecturers over cultism, sex‑for‑marks allegations
Kogi State Polytechnic in Lokoja suspended six lecturers for allegedly selling handouts and textbooks without authorization, and a seventh lecturer was suspended over accusations of sexual harassment. The suspensions were announced by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, John Onimisi, who said the disciplinary committee is investigating the claims.
The allegations include demands for sexual favours or money from female students in exchange for grades, the resurgence of nocturnal cult meetings on campus, and a relaxation of previous disciplinary measures such as dress code enforcement and student identity‑card checks. Onimisi assured that appropriate action will be taken once the investigation concludes.
