Kogi State secures development partnership with Kuwait Fund
Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo led a high-level delegation to Kuwait to secure development financing and technical partnerships for the Kogi State Development Plan (2024–2056). The mission aimed to attract investment for the state's long-term strategic goals, focusing on converting natural and human resources into sustainable economic growth.
During meetings with the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), including Acting Director-General Rashaid A. Al-Bader, the KFAED expressed in-principle readiness to partner on priority projects. This cooperation is subject to standard technical, financial, and institutional appraisals.
The proposed partnership targets several critical sectors, including large-scale water infrastructure, irrigation, renewable energy, and solid mineral processing. Other priority areas include agro-industrial hubs, transport, telecommunications, healthcare, and education. The collaboration is expected to encompass feasibility studies, engineering designs, and environmental assessments to support industrialization and job creation.
