Koh-Lanta host Denis Brogniart leaves council during unprecedented segment

During a recent episode of the survival reality show Koh-Lanta All Stars, host Denis Brogniart made an unprecedented move by temporarily leaving the yellow tribe during a crucial council meeting. Producer Julien Magne stated the decision was unplanned and intended to encourage spontaneous dialogue and communication among contestants following a series of defeats.

The move resulted in the elimination of Charlotte, the yellow tribe's captain. Magne noted that such surprises are designed to provoke authentic reactions from the adventurers.

Additionally, the production has addressed criticisms regarding the ‘île des bannis’ (island of the banished) mechanic. Some viewers and former contestants, including record-winner Claude Dartois, have argued that the mechanic devalues the game's strategic stakes by not making eliminations final. Magne defended the feature, describing it as a high-risk situation for contestants, noting that many do not successfully reintegrate into the game.
