Kohei Horikoshi Announces New Anime Special and Horror Manga
Manga creator Kohei Horikoshi revealed two upcoming projects. The anime studio BONES is set to release an original special titled “I am a hero too,” set after the My Hero Academia TV series finale. The story centers on Eri, now an adult who pursues a music career, and will feature grown‑up versions of Class 1‑A characters.
In addition, Horikoshi will debut a one‑shot horror‑romance manga called “Don’t Laugh, Shijima‑san” (also announced as “Warawanaide yo Shijima‑san”). The 61‑page work, which includes several colour pages, is scheduled for publication on 10 August 2026 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump double issue 37‑38. Both projects mark the creator’s first releases after concluding My Hero Academia.
