Kohima and Dimapur face rising road safety and infrastructure concerns

Citizens in Kohima and Dimapur are raising concerns regarding deteriorating road conditions and widespread traffic violations. Key issues include illegal parking, drivers using mobile phones while operating vehicles, excessive vehicle noise, and the improper use of high-beam headlights that blind other motorists.

Specific infrastructure concerns have been raised regarding the Dzüza and Sechü bridges. The high number of road rumblers at these locations is causing significant physical discomfort to travelers and potential damage to vehicles. There is a call for the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) to implement scientifically designed speed breakers with adequate warning signs to replace the current excessive rumblers.
