Kohima power department announces scheduled shutdowns and repairs

The Kohima division power department has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns from September 14 to October 1 to facilitate vegetation clearance and maintenance of 33kV transmission lines. The outages, scheduled between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., will affect various locations including NU Meriema, IG Stadium, Thizama, Kohima village, Rusoma, and parts of Southern and Northern Angami.

Additional scheduled maintenance will impact Lalmati, Zubza, and the Duilumroi small hydel project between September 17 and 22. Further shutdowns are planned for Chozouba, Chiethu, Botsa, Poghuboto, and Zhadima through October 1.

Separately, power supplies in the Wokha and Tseminyu districts have been affected due to equipment failures at the 132/33kV Wokha and 132/33kV Sanis substations. The department is working to restore power to these areas as quickly as possible.
