Košice begins 5.7 million EUR road repair project

The city of Košice is launching a new phase of road and sidewalk repairs scheduled to begin on Monday, August 10. The project, managed by Eurovia SK, involves continuous repairs across several key locations including Popradská, Zbrojničná, Rastislavova, and Puškinova streets.

Eurovia SK secured the contract with a winning bid of nearly 5.7 million EUR (including VAT), which was more than 30 percent lower than the city's initial estimate. The municipality will finance these works through a supplier loan, with 120 monthly installments scheduled to run from January next year until December 2036.

The construction is expected to last approximately four months, with a target completion date in early December. Residents and motorists are advised to expect significant traffic changes and detours, including full closures of certain sections on Zbrojničná street and lane restrictions on Popradská street, which will also impact public transit routes.
