Košice police search for scooter rider after hitting 5-year-old girl

Police in Košice are searching for a young scooter rider who struck a 5-year-old girl on a sidewalk in late June. The collision occurred on Mudroňova Street while the child was walking home from kindergarten with her mother.

The impact caused the girl to fall, resulting in a broken leg and various other injuries. Following the incident, the rider apologized, claiming he was in a hurry and did not see the child, but subsequently fled the scene.

Authorities have launched a criminal investigation into the incident for the offenses of causing bodily harm and failure to provide assistance. The victim is currently recovering from the physical injuries and the psychological trauma of the event.
