Košice to host 17th Biela noc festival with 300-drone light show

The 17th edition of the Biela noc festival will take place in Košice from October 9 to October 11, 2026. The event features light and interactive installations, video mapping, and music, with most of the program accessible to the public free of charge.

A major highlight of the festival is a drone performance titled ‘Kŕdeľ’ (Swarm), created by the technological and creative studio Lumi Sway. On Sunday evening at 20:00 and 21:00, 300 drones will fly over the City Park, creating shapes such as constellations, bird swarms, bee swarms, and human figures to explore the relationship between nature, humans, and technology.

The Košice Self-Governing Region (KSK) is supporting the event through its Terra Incognita grant program with a contribution of 30,000 euros. In addition to the drone show, the KSK is sponsoring two of the 27 festival installations, including a light projection titled ‘Spektrum’ on the regional office building and a dedicated information stand at Maratón mieru Square.
