Kojagari Puja 2026 scheduled for October 25

Kojagari Puja, also known as Kojagari Purnima or Sharad Purnima, will be observed on Sunday, October 25, 2026. The festival, which falls during the Ashwin month's Shukla Paksha, is a significant occasion for worshipping Goddess Lakshmi before Diwali.

According to the Vedic calendar, the Purnima Tithi begins at 11:55 AM on October 25 and concludes at 9:41 AM on October 26. Due to the Udayatithi, the puja is observed on the 25th. The auspicious Nishita Muhurta is scheduled from 11:40 PM to 12:31 AM.

Religious traditions suggest that Goddess Lakshmi visits the earth on this night to bless those who remain awake and perform rituals. In regions like Bengal, the festival is widely known as Kojagari Lakshmi Puja. Traditions include staying awake for worship and placing kheer under moonlight to be consumed as prasad the following day.
