Koji Yakusho to star in Netflix series ‘Ore no Koto, Nanka Itteta?’

Netflix has released teaser footage and art for the upcoming original series ‘Ore no Koto, Nanka Itteta?’ (Did You Say Something About Me?), starring Koji Yakusho. The series is scheduled for exclusive worldwide streaming starting October 22.

The human comedy follows Gen Takasegawa (Yakusho), a renowned actor who achieved success in a London stage production of ‘King Lear.’ Upon returning to Japan after a two-year hiatus following the pandemic, he discovers that he has been completely forgotten by the public, his family, and his colleagues.

The series highlights Yakusho’s versatile acting through various roles as Takasegawa attempts to rebuild his life from zero. His transformations include playing a homeless man, a concept cafe worker in a cow costume, a period drama extra, and a sauna attendant (aufguss master). The cast also features Kento Kaku, Kenichi Matsuyama, Noriko Eguchi, Yuumi Kawai, Masatoshi Hamada, Hayato Isomura, Shusaku Kamikawa, and Yo Yoshida.
