Koke Resurrección honors mother following her death

Atlético de Madrid captain Koke Resurrección and his brother Borja, a youth team assistant coach, issued a social media tribute following the death of their mother, Ana Merodio, at age 65.

Ana Merodio passed away on Tuesday morning, just hours before Atlético de Madrid's Champions League match against Manchester United. During the event at the Metropolitano stadium, a minute of silence was held in her honor, and the team dedicated their 2-0 victory to the Resurrección brothers.

In their message, Koke and Borja expressed gratitude for the solidarity shown by supporters, noting that it was a difficult time where words were hard to find. They stated that the values taught by their mother would remain with them forever.
