Ökokontor celebrates 20 years of organic potato and onion trade

This shift is attributed to expanded organic portfolios by retail chains and advancements in modern cooling technology, which allow for extended availability beyond the traditional German growing season.

Ökokontor Biologische Erzeugnisse GmbH & Co. KG, a subsidiary of the North German Heilmann Group, is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Founded by Brigitte Denker and Reinhard Meyer, the company specializes in the marketing of organic potatoes and onions, including seed potatoes and seeds.

As a member of the Bioland association, Ökokontor serves as a link between producers and retailers, focusing on German-certified organic products. The company utilizes the Heilmann Group’s logistics and long-term cold storage facilities to maintain a consistent supply chain and bridge the gap between harvest seasons.
