Koksara Lukavac begins partial asset sales
The bankruptcy administrator for the former industrial giant Koksara Lukavac has begun selling the company's assets in individual parts. The first sale involved the Modrac filter station, which was sold to the City of Lukavac for 3.14 million KM through an expropriation process.
Bankruptcy administrator Almir Bajrić stated that this partial sale model was adopted after attempts to sell Koksara as a single, unified system failed. Finding an investor willing to pay approximately 150 million KM for the entire complex, plus an additional 100 to 200 million KM for necessary investments, proved difficult.
In the coming days, the sale of six to seven other production units is expected to be announced. These units, which include facilities such as the Maleic Anhydride (AMK) factory, Remont, and Energana, will be offered separately to attract a wider range of investors. The funds collected from these sales are intended to address outstanding debts, including severance payments for former workers totaling between 5 and 5.5 million KM.
