Koksara Lukavac to be sold in parts after failed whole-company sale
The bankruptcy administrator for the industrial complex Koksara Lukavac, Almir Bajrić, has announced a new strategy to sell the company’s assets in individual parts rather than as a single entity. Previous attempts to sell the entire company failed, with the last minimum asking price set at 108.4 million KM.
Bajrić noted that while the public often associates Koksara solely with coke production, that activity represents only about 40 percent of the total operations. The complex includes several other functional units, such as the Maleic Anhydride (AMK) factory, Energana, the Remont factory, Azotara, and a filter station.
The decision to sell individual factories and functional units aims to attract a wider range of investors. Previous efforts were hindered by the high cost of acquisition combined with the tens of millions of KM required to restart coke production during a period of crisis in that sector. Under the new model, investors can choose to purchase specific factories or multiple units instead of being required to take over the entire legal entity.
