Koksilah Elementary School sold to church and landscaping company

The Cowichan Valley School District has finalized the sale of the former Koksilah Elementary School property in Duncan to Duncan Pentecostal Church and Living Stones Landscaping Inc. The sale was completed on August 28, 2026, with the new owners scheduled to take possession on September 15, 2026.

Koksilah Elementary operated from 1964 until its closure in 2013. Following the closure, the site was used for local trades training through a partnership with Vancouver Island University until the lease concluded in 2026. The district noted that the proceeds from the sale will be used to fund school repairs and maintenance across the district, including upgrades to heating, cooling, accessibility, and playgrounds.

The buyers intend to use separate portions of the site. Duncan Pentecostal Church plans to use the space for its growing congregation and ministries, while Living Stones Landscaping Inc. will utilize its own section of the property.
