Kolašin leaders pledge support for tourism and infrastructure
Montenegrin officials marked the Municipality Day of Kolašin on August 28, highlighting the region's transition into a major year-round tourism hub. Prime Minister Milojko Spajić pledged full state support for capital projects, noting record-breaking tourism results in both winter and summer seasons. He emphasized that infrastructure improvements, including highway construction and road reconstructions, are essential for connecting local centers to tourist zones and resolving long-standing traffic issues.
President Jakov Milatović addressed the local parliament, stressing the need to balance rapid development with the preservation of Kolašin’s historical and cultural identity. He specifically called for the restoration of the former ‘Risto Manojlović’ primary school building, a site of significant historical importance, to ensure it serves the community through sustainable use.
Other officials, including Deputy Speaker of Parliament Nikola Camaj, praised the municipality for maintaining its authentic identity while pursuing modern economic growth through its natural resources and skilled population.
