Kolathur man arrested for wife's murder

A man has been arrested in the Kolathur area of Chennai for the murder of his wife. The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Sarunraj, allegedly attacked Muthumariamman, 38, with a kitchen knife following an argument fueled by alcohol consumption.

Following the incident, Sarunraj reportedly attempted to stage a cover-up by calling emergency services and claiming his wife had simply fallen and died. However, medical responders determined she had succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Local police have recovered the body and sent it to the Kilpauk Government Hospital for an autopsy. Sarunraj is currently in custody as investigations continue.
