Kolbe Arte develops film about Venerable Maria de Lourdes Guarda

Kolbe Arte, a Catholic film distributor, is advancing a new cinematic project documenting the life of Venerable Maria de Lourdes Guarda. The initiative was commissioned in 2024 by the Diocese of Jundiaí through Bishop Arnaldo Carvalheiro Neto.

A recent meeting held at the Culture Secretariat in Salto, São Paulo, established a partnership to move the project into its next phase. The production aims to preserve the memory of Maria de Lourdes Guarda and share her testimony of faith and service to people with disabilities.

Born in Salto in 1926, Maria de Lourdes Guarda became paralyzed from the waist down at age 21 due to a spinal injury. She later joined the Secular Institute Caritas Christi, dedicating her life to prayer and devotion.
