Petit Simbaya: Autopsy confirms carbon monoxide poisoning in double death
Autopsy results have confirmed that two individuals found dead in a closed vehicle in the Petit Simbaya district of Conakry died from carbon monoxide poisoning. The victims, identified as mechanic Mamadou Daï Yallou and Kadiatou Keita, were discovered in a blue Nissan on October 12.
Colonel Mohamed N’Diaye, Director General of the Technical and Scientific Police, stated that the deaths were not the result of third-party intervention. Investigators believe the pair had been sitting in the vehicle with the engine running and the air conditioning on to talk. As the fuel was exhausted and the battery drained, carbon monoxide accumulated in the cabin, leading to fatal intoxication.
Prior to the autopsy findings, the discovery had caused significant distress. Keita’s husband, Alseny Camara, had reported her missing after she left home to perform a money transfer, and he had called for authorities to investigate potential foul play.
Other recent violent incidents in the region include a fatal dispute between friends in N’Djamena, a fatal altercation between a man and his partner in Kolda, and a stabbing involving siblings in Dangbo.
