Kolding Bull Sculpture to Be Restored and Moved to Marina Syd
The large bronze bull sculpture, forged by tinsmith Niels Pedersen in 1939 for export‑stall owner Jens Holm, has stood on a concrete plinth on Jens Holms Vej in Kolding for decades. It originally marked the city’s livestock‑export facilities and later became a local landmark.
Kolding Municipality’s engineers have inspected the piece with X‑ray and binocular surveys and found the internal frame in poor condition. The sculpture will be placed in a transport crate, taken to a local blacksmith workshop for repair and replacement of the inner support, and then cleaned, wax‑treated and repainted to preserve its green patina. Project manager Bjarne Tang Lauridsen says the work will be completed in August, after which the bull will be relocated to Marina Syd in September, where it will be installed in front of the historic export‑stall buildings at the new harbour district.
