Copenhagen Municipality has reached a budget agreement for 2027, prioritizing housing, social services, and urban development. A broad coalition of political parties has agreed to allocate nearly 2.4 billion DKK for construction and infrastructure between 2027 and 2030.

Key initiatives include approximately 1.7 billion DKK for schools, including 909 million DKK for a new school in Nordhavn, and 1.1 billion DKK for building maintenance. To combat the housing crisis, the budget allocates funds for new social housing, support for 120-150 new cooperative housing units, and a specialized patrol to crack down on illegal Airbnb rentals.

On the social services front, 595 million DKK has been set aside for service and construction. However, Social Mayor Karina Vestergård Madsen warned that despite these significant funds, the social sector still faces a deficit of 200 to 300 million DKK, calling for national government intervention to address rising costs in private residential care.
