Koleje Dolnośląskie expands fleet and improves rail speeds

Koleje Dolnośląskie is expanding its fleet and improving regional rail efficiency through significant European and national funding. The operator has secured nearly 150 million PLN from the FEniKS program to purchase additional Elf electric multiple units from PESA Bydgoszcz. Additionally, the company reported the rapid settlement of approximately 618 million PLN from the National Recovery Plan (KPO).

Recent infrastructure improvements on the Wrocław–Kłodzko–Międzylesie line have significantly reduced travel times. A new Elf train recently completed a non-stop trip from Kłodzko Miasto to Wrocław Główny in 56 minutes, a 10-minute improvement over previous records. These advancements are supported by ongoing track revitalizations and capacity increases, such as the construction of a new passing loop between Bardo and Kłodzko.

The regional government continues to invest in both modern rolling stock and the restoration of rail connections to various towns, aiming to improve accessibility for residents across Lower Silesia.
