Koleje Dolnośląskie integrates mObywatel for digital identity verification

Koleje Dolnośląskie and the KOLEO application have introduced a new identity verification method for passengers. By integrating with the mObywatel service, users can verify their identity directly during the ticket purchase process.

This integration specifically benefits students, who can now verify their eligibility for discounted fares within the app. This eliminates the need to present physical student IDs during ticket inspections. Once verified, the information is embedded in the ticket, allowing the solution to function offline—a feature designed to assist passengers in mountainous regions of Lower Silesia where mobile internet connectivity may be unreliable.

The initiative aims to streamline the inspection process for conductors, who currently perform over 2 million inspections per month. With more than 60 percent of sales occurring online, the new system is expected to reduce the administrative burden of verifying identity documents and student credentials.
