Koleje Dolnośląskie orders 20 eco-diesel trains from PESA

Koleje Dolnośląskie has exercised an option to order 20 eco-diesel trains from the Bydgoszcz-based manufacturer PESA. This expansion follows the recent addition of the 100th vehicle to the regional operator's fleet.

The new rolling stock is intended to serve non-electrified railway lines within the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, including the Podsudecka Magistrala. These lines serve areas where over 270,000 residents live, a figure expected to rise to 320,000 as new railway investments are completed.

According to Paweł Gancarz, the Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, the modern diesel vehicles are expected to arrive and begin servicing new directions in the region starting in June 2027.
