Koleje Śląskie reports rise in passengers traveling with pets
Koleje Śląskie has reported a significant increase in passengers traveling with pets. During the first half of 2026, over 19,000 passengers chose to travel with animals, representing a growth of more than 7 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.
To ensure the comfort and safety of all passengers, the carrier has outlined specific regulations. Dogs must be kept on a leash and wear a muzzle, and owners must carry valid rabies vaccination certificates. While dogs are subject to a flat fee of 2 PLN, they are not permitted to occupy passenger seats. In contrast, smaller animals such as cats or rabbits can travel for free if they are kept in a secure carrier, cage, or basket. Service animals and guide dogs travel free of charge.
