Koleje Śląskie simplifies group ticket bookings with 30% discount
Koleje Śląskie announced new rules for organized groups of ten to eighty passengers. Group tickets are priced about 30% lower than standard fares while still allowing passengers to use statutory discounts. From 15 July the mandatory group travel cards are replaced by an online application on the Koleje Śląskie website, where organizers can submit requests, purchase tickets and generate invoices.
The new system shortens the notification window: groups of up to 20 people can inform the carrier up to one hour before departure, whereas larger groups must be submitted at least four working days in advance. The railway cites rising demand – 1.6 thousand groups in the first half of 2024, up from the same period in 2023, with the number of trips growing each year.
The changes also affect group supervisors, who will now receive the same 30% discount as other participants instead of traveling free of charge.
