Kolkata police seize over Rs 2.2 crore in cash from New Town guest house

The Bidhannagar City Police, supported by Techno City and Cyber Crime units, conducted an overnight raid on a private guest house in New Town, on the northern outskirts of Kolkata. Police recovered approximately Rs 2.2 crore in cash and seized gold, documents and four vehicles, and arrested seven individuals, including a woman.

Investigators are probing the source of the money, looking into possible links to cyber‑fraud and hawala transactions. All arrested persons are being questioned as the probe continues.
