Kollum working group proposes volunteer plan to save It Paradyske pool

A working group dedicated to preserving the It Paradyske outdoor swimming pool in Kollum met with Alderman Geertje Schoorstra-Boeijenga to discuss the facility's future. The group presented a scenario aimed at keeping the pool operational through increased volunteer involvement.

The discussion follows a report investigating the pool's usage. While the facility is one of the larger outdoor pools in the region with 730 square meters of swimming water, it averages only 10,000 visitors per year.

The municipality of Noardeast-Fryslân stated that the meeting was constructive and that they intend to weigh all arguments for and against various options. A formal proposal will be presented to the municipal council, with a final decision on the future of It Paradyske expected during the council meeting on November 5.
