Kolnjak cemetery hosts commemoration for 1945 victims

Commemorations were held at the Kolnjak cemetery in the Gornji Kneginec municipality to honor victims of post-war killings that occurred in 1945. The event coincided with the European Day of Remembrance for the victims of all totalitarian and authoritarian regimes, including Nazism, fascism, and communism.

The program included a Holy Mass led by Vicar Ivica Puškadija at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene, followed by a gathering at the Kolnjak memorial. Local officials, including Varaždin County Deputy Silvija Zagorec and representatives from the Ministry of Croatian Veterans, attended to pay respects and emphasize the importance of preserving the memory of innocent victims to prevent future violence.
