Kolon Global worker dies after fall at Cheongju construction site

A worker has died following a fall at the Cheongju Dongnam public housing construction site managed by Kolon Global. The accident occurred on August 11 while the worker was dismantling safety railings to install vertical protective netting for a rest area.

After receiving medical treatment for 18 days, the worker passed away on August 29. Kolon Global reported the fatality to the Ministry of Employment and Labor on the same day. In response, the Cheongju Branch of the Daejeon Regional Employment and Labor Office issued a partial work stoppage order for the site to facilitate an investigation and prevent further risks.

Kolon Global stated it is cooperating with investigations by the police and the Ministry of Employment and Labor and plans to establish measures to prevent recurrence.
