Kolonaki medical clinic under investigation following death and malpractice claims
Investigations into a medical clinic located on Karneadou Street in Kolonaki have intensified following new allegations and testimonies. One male patient claimed that during a visit to seek health assistance, he was pressured to undergo phlebotomy and was told that failure to do so would result in him becoming homosexual.
This testimony follows the death of artist Georgios Mazonakis, which is currently under investigation. A nurse who worked at the clinic testified that Mazonakis appeared to be in good condition when the phlebotomy procedure began, but his condition deteriorated rapidly, causing panic. The nurse also noted that neither of the two doctors accused in the case accompanied the artist to the hospital when emergency services arrived.
Additional allegations have surfaced regarding the clinic's equipment, medical procedures, and the high costs charged for treatments. The Athens Medical Association has also conducted inspections at the facility as the investigation continues.
