Kolovraty district opens new modern primary school

A new primary school building opened in the Kolovraty district of Prague, funded by the city at a cost of roughly half a billion Czech crowns. The facility, slated to begin classes in September 2026, can accommodate up to 510 pupils across 19 regular classrooms and a range of specialist rooms, including language, science, workshop and a cooking lab.

The school features CO₂‑controlled ventilation, heat‑pump heating, provisions for photovoltaic panels, two multifunctional gyms (one accessible to the public), an outdoor atrium and a bicycle storage area. It is fully barrier‑free. Officials from the Prague municipal government and the construction firm SYNER attended the opening ceremony and highlighted the project’s emphasis on modern technology and long‑term sustainability.

The development replaces a fragmented school setup that previously required children to attend multiple buildings, aiming to serve both educational and community‑recreational needs in the area.
