Komal Jan drowns in Soan River while filming TikTok

Komal Jan, a 28-year-old TikTok content creator and assistant at the Election Commission of Pakistan, drowned in the Soan River in Rawalpindi on Wednesday. The incident occurred near a bridge after Jan reportedly fell into the water while filming a video.

Police and eyewitness accounts provide varying details regarding the fall. Some reports suggest Jan was standing on a low concrete wall along the bridge's edge while recording a video when she fell. Other accounts indicate she left her electric scooter and belongings on the road before climbing the retaining wall and entering the river.

Rescue 1122 teams conducted a search operation and recovered her body approximately three kilometers downstream from the initial site. Her motorcycle, helmet, and mobile phone were found parked near the bridge. Authorities stated that Jan had spoken to her family shortly before the incident and there were no indications of distress.
