Komatsu-Mitsui to present sustainability strategy at Cumbre Perú Sostenible 2026
Komatsu-Mitsui Maquinarias Perú will present the progress of its sustainability strategy at the Cumbre Perú Sostenible 2026, held from September 24 to 26. Mirtha Rodríguez, Corporate Director of HSSEQ and Sustainability, will lead a presentation on how the company integrates environmental criteria into its daily operations, focusing on energy efficiency, renewable energy, water management, and waste handling.
A key component of this strategy is the Environmentally Sustainable Branch (SAS) program, adapted from the Komatsu Holding South America regional model. This program aims to create a measurable and scalable scheme for environmental management across facilities. A major milestone was the 2025 inauguration of the Arequipa branch, which cost approximately US$ 2 million and became the first in Peru to achieve a ‘green level’ status.
Regarding environmental metrics, the company has used International Renewable Energy Certificates (I-REC) to certify that 100% of its national energy consumption comes from non-conventional renewable sources since 2023. Additionally, the company recirculated 2,814 m3 of water at its Pucusana and Callao sites. Socially, the company invested US$ 568,966 in community projects in 2025 and graduated over 800 youths through its Technical Education for Communities (TEC) program.
